Terms of Service

By using GiftDice ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What GiftDice Does
GiftDice is a free tool for organizing gift exchanges and creating shareable wishlists. You can create groups, invite participants, draw random matches, and manage gift lists. You can also create wishlists and share them so others know what to get you.
2. Accounts
You need an account to create exchanges, join groups, and reserve wishlist items. You can sign in with Google or email. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Upload malicious files (viruses, malware) through CSV or PDF uploads
- Attempt to access other users' data or accounts without authorization
- Spam invite links or create groups for purposes unrelated to gift exchanges
- Scrape, crawl, or use bots to interact with the Service
4. User Content
You retain ownership of content you create (group names, gift descriptions, wishlist items). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content as needed to provide the Service.
5. Gift Exchanges
GiftDice facilitates the organization of gift exchanges. We are not responsible for whether participants actually purchase or deliver gifts. The "fine" feature is a social accountability tool and is not a financial penalty enforced by GiftDice.
6. Wishlists
Wishlists shared via a link are publicly accessible to anyone with that link. You are responsible for what you share. Item reservations are non-binding - they indicate intent but do not constitute a purchase commitment.
7. No Warranty
GiftDice is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the Service running and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime or that the Service will be error-free.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GiftDice and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes but is not limited to disputes between exchange participants, gifts not delivered, or data loss.
9. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We'll try to give reasonable notice for major changes.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
